TRU Students, Jonathan MacIntyre, Auto Service Technician Year 4 and Dan Hall, Electronics Year 2, earned gold medals at the 16th Annual Skills Canada Competition May 20 to 23 in Waterloo, Ontario. They were among over 500 young people from all regions of Canada, to compete in over 40 trade and technology areas.

This is Daniel Hall’s second gold medal; the first was in 2009. Daniel has qualified for the World Skills in London, England in October 2011. It’s also a second gold for Jonathan MacIntyre who won gold in 2008. He will not be competing in London due to his age.

Jon Paterson (electrical) and Cullen Smart (Welding) competed as well.
