What kind of open spaces will there be on a TRU campus of the future? Will the central ‘hub’ of the campus be the same as it is now? And will TRU students of tomorrow be able to study, engage in research and enjoy social interaction effectively and easily?

These, and other questions regarding the development of academic space at TRU, will be discussed at the university’s second public consultation on its Campus Master Plan.

The consultation will take place Wednesday, April 17th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Mountain Room of the university’s Campus Activity Centre. Members of the TRU community as well as the wider Kamloops community are encouraged to attend for the full two hours or to drop in as possible between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m.

According to Dr. Larry Prins, Interim Vice-President, Administration and Finance, “Decisions on the campus layout and its academic and social spaces will affect how our future campus is experienced by all who use it – including students, faculty, staff, visitors and neighbours.

“Essentially, those who come out on Wednesday will have an influence on key decisions about how the TRU campus will look and work for decades to come.”

The consultation will be hosted by TRU and facilitated by Stantec, TRU’s partner in developing the Campus Master Plan. The Campus Master Plan is a comprehensive plan for development of TRU over the next 20 to 25 years.
