Natalie Clark, Coordinator of Centre for Community-Based Youth Health Research at Thompson Rivers University. The Say What!? conference is at the Henry Grube Centre Friday May 7, 1pm to 7pm.

The Centre for Community-Based Youth Health Research is presenting a free conference May 7th open to all youth, youth advocates, allies, service providers and researchers.

The Say What!? conference on Artistic and Recreation Expressions for Youth Health in Kamloops will be at the Henry Grube Education Centre at 245 Kitchener Crescent on Friday from 1pm to 7pm.

“We are presenting our current research, and other research related to youth health in the community, while engaging youth in a variety of workshops,” said Natalie Clark, Coordinator of Centre for Community-Based Youth Health Research at Thompson Rivers University.

Focusing on racialized, immigrant and indigenous youth the conference offers workshops in music production, graffiti art, photovoice, Youth Health Leaders, street spirits, ultimate frisbee, martial arts and creative writing. Besides opportunities to learn there is a chill out room equipped with a Wii Fit and Xbox, food by Conscientious Catering with live music by Yell, Phil Chamberlin and Destruction of Triumph.

The conference is sponsored by the Centre for Community-Based Youth Health Research, Community University Research Alliance and TRU.
