Dual Admission Agreement for TRU and Yukon College Students

Thompson Rivers University (TRU) delegates signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Yukon College (YC) today that gives students from both institutions dual admission access to TRU and YC

YC students in Liberal Arts, Sciences or Business will be eligible to apply for Dual Admission to TRU Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Business Administration degrees.

“The establishment of a dual admission process for the Bachelor of Arts, the Bachelor of Science and the Bachelor of Business Administration provides students with a clear, flexible and reliable pathway from Yukon College programs to TRU university degrees,” said Dr. Ulrich Scheck, TRU Provost and Vice-President Academic

“The new process guarantees student’s transfer from YC to three of TRU’s degree programs,” said Karen Barnes, YC Vice-President Education and Training”. We’ve been working towards this type of agreement over the past year.”

“I am also very excited about the benefits of our partnership with Yukon College for our campus,” said Scheck. “We will also be exploring opportunities for TRU students and faculty to come to Yukon College and to experience the wonderful teaching and learning environment here.”

Yukon College-Thompson River University students’ registration priority is based on credits completed the same as current TRU studentsThese students are not considered transfer students and are permitted the same registration priority privileges as ongoing TRU students.
