The group of five graphics below were created by the Kamloops Daily News and belong to a series of newspaper advertisements profiling participants in the Kamloops Marathon, which is scheduled for July 28-29. 2012. Click on each to view a larger version on flickr. The theme of each ad is the answer to the question, “Why I Run.”

Not only will the Marathon be a fun raiser with its other distance of 5km, 10km, and half marathon, but also a fundraiser for the cross-country running program at Thompson Rivers University. Of the five people pictured below, two have a direct connection to TRU and one is a former faculty member. Terry Lake is a former faculty member in Animal Health Technology, Rick Brewster is a faculty member in Math and Statistics, and Christopher Seguin is Vice-President of Advancement.

As many as 500 participants are expected to run in any of the four distances. The 5km and 10km are scheduled for the Saturday and could attract about 200 people, with the rest running the half marathon and full marathon on Sunday.
