The sweeping arc and strong lines of The Brown Family House of Learning have impressed two library associations in recent weeks, resulting in an award and magazine spotlight.
The BC Library Association officially bestowed the Merit Award for Building Projects for 2011 to TRU at its annual conference May 11-12 in Richmond.
In the Feb. 28 edition of its online magazine, American Libraries, which is the magazine for the American Library Association, featured The Brown Family House of Learning in its The Shape of Things category as part of its Library Design Showcase 2012.
In its 24th year, the ALA showcase is a celebration of the best new and renovated libraries North America has to offer.
The Brown Family House of Learning was designed by Toronto firm Diamond and Schmitt Architects.
