Navigating your way through university can be tough, but for Arts students, there’s a group of Mentors smoothening the path.

The new TRU Arts Mentoring Program recently went live with its web pages and here’s what you’ll find when you land on the homepage…

Who are the TRU Arts Mentors? In short, we are a group of senior Arts students who have volunteered to aid new students in adjusting to both the Arts program and to University life.

What we do, and what we can do for you, is to make things easier as you adjust to life on campus. We are ready to provide the answers (or ways to find the answers) for any questions that you may have—from where you go to find refreshments on campus, to suggestions on how to handle a heavy course load, to where to go and/or who to ask about your academic future, or even about the city of Kamloops in general.

We are students who have been there and done that, and are willing to share our experiences and provide some guidance. Throughout the year we will also provide some opportunities to socialize with other students on campus. Essentially, we wish to aid in making your first year on campus a positive experience.

University can be a lot of fun; however, this depends on finding the right balance.

What the Arts Mentors can do for you depends on you. If you have any questions or would like to be paired with a mentor, you can stop by our booth at Orientation on Tuesday, September 6th.
