Students of the Language and Culture Immersion Program received more than just instruction during the four-week program at TRU from July 7 to Aug. 3, 2011.
They also participate in a range of structured activities, designed to give them a taste of Canadian culture as well as provide informal situations to practise their English.
Among the structured activities: golf lessons, canoe and kayaking, gold panning, dragon boating (see video below), a tour of the Kamloops Fire & Rescue’s Fire Hall Number 1 in Sahali.
The 100 students represented Mexico, Japan, Korea, Spain, Saudi Arabia, China, and Saudi Arabia. Find out more about TRU’s international division.
