Guest lecturer by playwright, director, and actor Kevin Kerr, winner of the 2002 Governor General’s Literary Award for Drama, on Wednesday, March 31 from 3:30 -5:30 PM in Science, Room 203.

Kerr, whose UNITY:1918 had a successful run with the TRU Actors Workshop in early March, and Skydive is being produced by Western Canada Theatre from April 1-10, is no stranger to Kamloops, where he grew up and attended the University College of the Cariboo. He continued his studies at UBC and Langara College’s Studio 58.

Kerr is also a founding member and co-artistic director of Vancouver*s Electric Company Theatre , whose outstandingly successful Brilliant! The Blinding Enlightenment of Nikola Tesla was shown across Western Canada (including at WCT) and in Edinburgh, Scotland, and garnered multiple Jessie awards. He has also co-written The Wake, The Score, Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands, Flop, The Fall, and other works with fellow members of the ECT, as well as directing and co-directing numerous ECT works.

Former Lee Playwright in Residence at the University of Alberta, Kevin Kerr is known for his innovative work across a wide spectrum of the theatre world. Canadian Studies is pleased that he is returning to our campus.
