TRU Enviro award goes to Bronwen Scott

Tom Owen, TRU Director Environment and Sustainability made the following announcement today (May 2, 2011):

On behalf of the Environmental Advisory Committee, which is jointly appointed by the Board and Senate, I am pleased to announce that Bronwen Scott is the 2011 Environmental Achievement Award recipient.

Criteria
The award is based upon an outstanding contribution to environment and sustainability by an employee or alumnus of Thompson River University.
Bronwen’s commitment to environmental issues can be traced back to the year she graduated with the arts and science medal from UCC, when she initiated the first environmental speakers’ series. A tireless campaigner for a pesticide free campus and initiator of events such as Trash Bash she has previously been recognized with a Thompson Rivers University distinguished service award in 2006. The award is in the form of a $1,000 scholarship to be given to a deserving Thompson River University student in Bronwen’s name.

The presentation is scheduled for the next EAC meeting on Wednesday, May 4 at 4:30 p.m., in Open Learning room 127. Everyone is invited.
