TRU Law hosted two alumni events in September, in Calgary and Vancouver, with record turnouts.
These opportunities for networking and engagement are a great way for TRU Law graduates to come together, reminisce and mentor each other.
“With six years of graduates, obviously not all of our 500 plus alumni were physically at the law school at the same time. Watching graduates from different years meet for the first time at an alumni event, and instantly connect over the common experience of attending law school at TRU, is impactful and inspiring,” said Assistant Dean Kazanowski, who represented the faculty at both events.
“Hosting alumni events is one way for the law school to encourage the continued interaction of TRU Law graduates, and an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of so many notable graduates in person,” said Kazanowski.
Past TRU Law valedictorians Michael Geib and Eli Zbar, and past gold medal winner Louise Hamill, co-hosted the events in their respective cities.
“The TRU alumni event was a wonderful evening with good food and many faces I was both happy to see again, and happy to meet for the first time,” said Hamill, regarding the Vancouver reception.
Geib was at the Calgary event and said: “Each class at TRU benefits from the foundations laid by those who came before, and the alumni event is a unique opportunity for everyone to network and connect. The collegial environment and good nature of TRU Law students carries on with our growing alumni network”.
TRU Law is looking forward to continuing these popular and valuable events in the future.
