Open educational resources (OER) have been big news in higher education, as freely available, open-source textbooks stand to dramatically reduce the cost of education.
In this Open Talks Podcast Series episode, Irwin DeVries talks about OERu (Open Education Resource universitas), an international network of recognized partner institutions from five continents, and the projects that Open Learning (OL) is undertaking to make OER available to students today and in the future.
DeVries, a long-time advocate for open textbooks and accessible education, is currently the Interim Associate Vice President of TRU-OL.
A list of websites referred to in the podcast can be found at OERu and Open Learning.
