TRU’s Fall 2014/ Winter 2015 course schedule is now available to view online. If you are looking for business courses, you may be wondering what happened to all the BBUS and BUEC acronyms. Do not be alarmed. All the courses are still available, only the acronyms and some course numbers have been changed to better reflect their subject area and prerequisite sequencing.
Many business courses have kept their original numbers, and only changed their acronyms.
(For example, BBUS 2210 Financial Accounting is now ACCT 2210. All Accounting courses now have the acronym ACCT; Commercial and Employment Law, BLAW; Ethics and Management, MNGT; Economic and Business Statistics, ECON; Finance, FNCE; Human Resource Management, HRMN; International Business, IBUS; Management Information Systems, MIST; Marketing, MKTG; New Venture Creation, ENTR; Organizational Behaviour, ORGB; and Supply Chain Management, SCMN.)
(Note, some of the courses for our major in Human Resources are now under ORGB and others under HRMN.)
A number of business courses have changed both their acronyms and numbers. (For example, BBUS 1370 is now MIST 2610, BBUS 2540 is now ACCT 2250, BBUS 2720 is now ORGB 2810, BBUS 3030 is now MNGT 3710, and BBUS 3930 is now BLAW 2910.)
For a complete list of course equivalencies, please see: http://www.tru.ca/business/programs/tru_truol_course_equivalencies.html
Revisions to course acronyms and numbers will not change the program requirements of current Bachelor of Business Administration students – if you are an active student who started your degree prior to September 2014, your program requirements remain the same.
Likewise, for students in other degree programs who are working towards a minor in Management, courses that have been moved from third to second year status will remain cross-listed as third year for your program.
