Student Janice Yeung Wins Kamloops Distinguished Service Award

The following is from the website The Armchair Mayor News, and was posted April 10, 2014. It highlights Bachelor of Tourism Management student Janice Yeung as one of the eight winners of a 2014 City of Kamloops Distinguished Service Awards.

Yeung is completing a major in Management and minor in Entrepreneurship with Co-op distinction, as well as a Certificate in Management that’s in progress through the School of Business and Economics.

 

City’s best honoured at service awards

Janice Yeung perhaps said it best at tonight’s (Thursday’s) annual City of Kamloops Distinguished Service Awards.

The word Kamloops officially translates to “meeting of the waters,” she said in accepting her award, but it really means “meeting of great people.”

She was one of eight of the city’s best who were honoured at the presentation ceremony attended by about 100 people at the Hotel 540.

Another recognition Yeung will receive is the TD Meloche Monnex Scholarship in Career Development. That will be presented at TRU’s Distinguished Alumni Awards on April 11, 2014.
