Thompson Rivers University is hosting “Working” with your BA, an exciting event for alumni & students aimed at highlighting the value of a TRU Arts degree and all of the exciting opportunities that come with that.
The event starts at 5:00pm in the TRU Mountain Room with a student-mentor portion of the event. Arts and Journalism students will meet with a variety of hand selected mentors – most of whom hold TRU Arts or Journalism degrees, to hear success stories, gather useful career tips and network.
At 6:00pm all Alumni are invited to join in and listen to a panel of successful Arts Alumni tell their unique and inspiring stories of success. Panelists will give advice and direction on following a non-linear career path to success.
“I think this topic applies to everyone, especially Arts alumni, because the majority of people do not end up working in the career or even field that they had anticipated. These people are living examples of how to take the skills gained from an Arts degree and fulfill a passion,” said Arlene Olynyk, Alumni Officer.
