Having trouble with a course and wishing you could do something about it?
Did you know you are able to officially withdraw from a course up until Friday, March 8, 2013?
Not the same as quitting, withdrawal is about making an informed choice and you need to make this choice by March 8.
A “W” on a transcript is an innocuous little letter, unlike an “F” or a “DNC” which can have serious effects on grade point averages (GPA). A low GPA can put you on academic probation, jeopardize funding and affect future plans such as careers and graduate programs.
However, keep in mind a “W” may also have unforeseen circumstances for funding that you need to aware of.

CAN I WITHDRAW FROM A COURSE AND GET A REFUND? DROPPING A COURSE
Dropping a course before the end of the second week of instruction means being eligible to receive a 100% refund.
After the second week of instruction, you may still withdraw from a course up to and including the eighth week of instruction, but there is no refund.

No, an official withdrawal is not calculated into a student’s GPA.

WHAT ARE THE IMPLICATIONS FOR WITHDRAWING?
There are often significant academic and funding implications for students for withdrawing—as there are for failing (F) or not completing (DNC) a course.
