web_halloweenHelp out the TRU and Kamloops food banks this Halloween by dressing up in costume and going door-to-door collecting non-perishable food items. The group collecting the most items wins a prize, but most importantly, the food banks will have food for the months ahead of us.

Each year we collect more than 5,000 items in Kamloops on Halloween Night. Dress up in your best costume and come join in the fun. Kappa Sigma Fraternity and Kamloops Rotaract Club are spearheading this year’s event.

The Need. Today, there are 2.7 million people in Canada who don’t know where their next meal is coming from. This means hundreds of thousands of men, women, parents, grandparents, teenagers, and children go to bed hungry. These are people in our own communities.

Learn more and help out by registering. By signing up, you can start collecting food for our local food bank and online donations for Meal Exchange, a group of passionate youth working to end food insecurity. $28 is all it takes for a Meal Exchange youth volunteer to provide 34 meals for your neighbours in need.

This year we meet up at the back of the Thompson Hotel (on Victoria Street) at 4pm to register and take a huge group photo.

Please bring a few cloth bags and your excitement.

We will gather at a local restaurant after collection to announce our totals and prize winners.
