On February 12th 2010, Thompson Rivers University student Natasha Little, with the help of the  WolfPack, will be hosting TREMORS: a rally to renew the Haitian nation. TREMORS is an acronym for To Restore and Encourage Mankind with One Resonating Spirit. An event she says will:

1. Recognize and celebrate how Kamloops has come together as a community to
support a country in distress (Haiti),
2. Raise funds (to be donated to the Red Cross) and awareness for the current situation in Haiti, and
3. Showcase Kamloops’ involvement in Haiti and opportunities to become involved with the relief effort.

TRU is the venue for this citywide event and varsity athletes have committed to hosting. “Local bands and performing artists have been confirmed,” Little says. “As well as the TRU Fine Arts Department have donated artwork to showcase and sell (profit to Haiti).”

TREMORS will feature the Slocan Valley’s Haiti evacuees (those high school students who were on a mission during the quake). The students are enthusiastic about being keynote speakers at the event. The event coordinator, a second-year science student majoring in cellular molecular microbial biology is encouraging the campus and the community to get out and participate,
