The TRU Drama and Theatre Club (TRUDAT) will present a holiday stress-reliever this month.
Entitled “A Christmas Show,” the 45-minute, one-act play will be staged at two local watering-holes December 16th and 19th.
“It”s absolutely a comedy,” explained TRUDAT member Kaitlynn Dewhirst. “It’s about someone looking to find the meaning of Christmas.”
The play featuring four characters played by TRU students, Alexander Ross, Chris Cooley, Chris Fofonoff and Monica Sia, was written by TRU Theatre student Chris Cooley, who is also the director, along with fellow student Dusan Magdolen.
Asked how the students manage to juggle exams, final essays and rehearsals, Dewhirst laughed. “It’s a little bit stressful,” she said. “But we do it for the love of it.” The group will stage the play at Rota’s Bar & Grill on December 16th and again at Grasshopper Bar & Grill on December 19th, beginning at 8:00 pm each night. Admission is $5 at the door. For information, please call Kaitlynn at 574-3472 or by email.
