We are excited to announce that the Office of Indigenous Education at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) is preparing to host an ONLINE Zoom meeting for the Secwepemc Nation Scholars on:

Zoom Meeting ID: 669 7313 6285
Passcode: 796507
Link: https://tru-ca.zoom.us/j/66973136285?pwd=TGJsd0RHTDdFTG82M1pwcG9hcVFHUT09

This gathering is open to all Secwepemc scholars from one of the seventeen Secwepemc communities who are currently enrolled in Master’s and PhD graduate programs, who currently hold graduate degrees, and who are recognized as Knowledge Keepers and/or fluent Secwepemctsin speakers.

The Secwepemc Nation Scholars Gathering this year has been requested by the Secwepemc scholars who attended previous gatherings and directed our office to develop the Secwepemc Nation Research Ethics Guidelines (SNREG). The purpose of the gathering is to provide a forum for the Secwepemc Scholars to construct the Secwepemc Nation Research Ethics Board and continue on with the management of research within Secwepemcúlucw.

It is with this in mind, we request that your band administration contact and inform the scholars, Knowledge Keepers, and fluent speakers attend this history making gathering.

Should you require more information, please do not hesitate to contact Tina Matthew at tmatthew@tru.ca or Garry Gottfriedson at ggottfriedson@tru.ca.
