Join us for the third part in the Indigenous Health Nursing Symposium: Nursing the Nursing Spirit.

Speakers include:

  • Lucy Barney, Statlimx, who currently works with Perinatal Services BC and the First Nations Health Authority Maternal and Child Health
  • Sage Thomas, Tk’emlups te Secwepemc, who is an Indigenous birth worker, a birth and postpartum doula, breastfeeding educator and counsellor, and a current TRU student
  • Evelyn Good Striker, Lakota Dakota from Standing Buffalo First Nation in Saskatchewan and the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe in South Dakota, who has been an educator for many years, and earned her Master of Education from the University of Lethbridge
  • Dr. Jennifer Leason, Anishinaabek, and a member of the Pine Creek Indian Band, and the Canadian Institute of Health Research Canada Research Chair of Indigenous Maternal Child Wellness and an Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary.
