Research tackles predatory publishing

Dr. Derek Pyne, associate professor in the School of Business and Economics, wrote an op-ed for the Ottawa Citizen, Are universities complicit in predatory publishing?, arguing that university administration ought to develop policies against publishing in predatory journals. Predatory journals are those that claim to be be peer reviewed but in reality allow authors to buy publication and inflate their publication records. Pyne’s current research include the study of the market for predatory publications.
