Toad People: Screening and panel discussion

In celebration of World Frog Day on March 20, the Biology Undergrad Society (BUGS) and the NRS Club present a screening of Toad People.

This documentary produced by the Wilderness Committee looks at people in communities across British Columbia who are taking action to save the wildlife in their backyards.

The film will run from 6:15-7:30 p.m. and will be followed by a panel discussion on species-at-risk in BC, with the discussion moderated by TRU’s dean of science, Dr. Tom Dickinson. There will also be time for questions and answers.

The BC Wildlife Park will have a small display set up with live toads and frogs. Light refreshments and networking will cap off the event.

Panelists include

Dustin Oaten, MSc, spadefoot and western toad researcher
Isabelle Groc, award-winning environmental writer and photographer, Wilderness Committee
Jo-Ann Hales, MSc student and spadefoot toad researcher
Alan Burger, PhD, president of BC Nature
