Prehistoric spear points on CBC Quirks & Quarks

Anthropologist Dr. Karl Hutchings was a guest on CBC’s Quirks & Quarks on Feb. 7. Hutchings made a remarkable discovery upon analyzing obsidian artifacts, providing evidence to show that humans used spear throwers as early as 279,000 years ago.

3MT’s Western Canadian final coming to TRU

TRU will host the 3MT Western Regional Championships in April. Up to 16 graduate students from Western Canada will compete by testing their ability to succinctly explain their work to a non-specialist audience. The winner advances to the Canadian championship.
