Research at TRU: A year worth celebrating

November 4, 2019

TRU Research: Committed to Community, 2018-19

What is research? At TRU, we believe research helps to inform, and to answer questions large and small. We believe that research is for everyone, and can be conducted by everyone. We believe in conducting research that is in service to our communities.

This seventh annual report on research is a celebration of the last 12 months of research efforts and accomplishments of faculty, students and community research partners.

Committed to Community highlights ground-breaking work in the sciences, the humanities, the social sciences, law, nursing, education and business, and once again pays special attention to the growing contributions of our researchers and their students in community-driven projects.

“TRU aspires toward a civically engaged approach to research and research training, seeking maximum impact on quality of life, culture, environmental sustainability, public health, and economic prosperity for our local and regional communities,” said Dr. Will Garret-Petts, Associate Vice-President, Research and Graduate Studies. “Research, broadly defined, is central to our mission.”
