Dr. Jeff McLaughlin

Dr. Jeff McLaughlin is available to speak to the historical and ethical dilemmas often showcased through graphic comic novels and on the big screen. Jeff was a personal friend of Stan Lee, the creator of Marvel Comics. Jeff, a long-standing associate professor, chairs the Philosophy, History and Politics department.

Background

  • Jeff has authored two books on this subject, Comics as Philosophy and Stan Lee: Conversations.
  • Jeff believes comic books offer a unique opportunity to explore deep questions about aesthetics, ethics, and epistemology in nontraditional ways.
  • Jeff teaches courses on cyberphilosophy, medical ethics, global business ethics, computer history, ethics and the Holocaust and contemporary moral issues.
