On April 7, Teacher Candidates from the Bachelor of Education Program met with prospective employers at TRU for the Education Career Fair 2017. A new event initiated by the School of Education, the day began with brief “speed dating” interviews in the morning, with Teacher Candidates rotating through eight different employers. These mini-interviews provided Teacher Candidates a chance to practice their interview schools, learn about a variety of job opportunities in BC schools (public urban/rural, independent, and off-shore), as well as build their profile with specific employers. After a networking session for Year 1 Teacher Candidates with the employers, the afternoon provided time for further in-depth interviews, with many Teacher Candidates moving on to follow-up interviews — and even some job offers!
