Sign-up for TRU Rideshare

September 29, 2016

Some TRU students and staff - and Lenny! - share a ride.

The TRU Facilities Department is delighted to announce that registration is now open for the TRU Rideshare program; a new online carpooling solution for students, staff, faculty, and alumni. Similar Rideshare programs have been used successfully at other Canadian universities for years.

Over the next two weeks, TRU staff and volunteers will be on campus (in green scarves) informing people of TRU Rideshare, and will offer them a chance to sign up on the spot and enter to win the iPad Mini. New registrants will also receive a free coffee/tea voucher. You can also register online.

Top 3 reasons to sign-up for the TRU Rideshare program:

  • Car sharing is great for the environment, the wallet, and social connections,
  • Signing-up is free and does not commit you to use the program, and
  • Your name gets entered into a draw for an iPad Mini once 350 people sign-up.

The program is ideal for sharing rides while commuting to TRU or traveling to other destinations like Sun Peaks, Vancouver, etc. It isn’t just for vehicle drivers and passengers either; it’s for anyone who commutes in any way – including via biking, walking, and public transit. You can save fuel, reduce your environmental impact, have security in numbers, and meet others from TRU.

The new notification system, which optionally uses texting and alternative-email address notification, makes it responsive and very easy to use. You’ll be notified when a new ride match is made.

Registration takes 5-10 minutes. Register online today.
