Associate Professor Ruby Dhand explains this case, and why BC is an outlier, in an article she co-published in last weekend’s Vancouver Sun. Dhand is also the co-author of Halsbury Laws of Canada for Mental Health Law, which compares and contrasts each Canadian jurisdiction’s civil mental health laws; her research is being used to support this charter challenge.
