Elizabeth is an instruction and outreach librarian and has been at TRU since 2002. As coordinator of the annual Undergraduate Research and Innovation Conference, her vision and organizational skills have helped it grow from a few dozen students to almost 200 over two days of posters and oral presentations. As one of a few leaders of Long Night Against Procrastination, she brings multiple campus services and resources together in one place to help students succeed. Elizabeth coordinates and delivers library classes and workshops for up to 4,500 students each year—a total of 1,400 sessions and 25,000 students since 2009. Janis Setka
Facilities Services

Janis Setka

Janis Setka

Janis has worked in Facilities Services since 1989 and continues to be an exemplary model of calm, patience and professionalism as she expertly handles among other things, issues around door keys, parking complaints and emergency calls from various departments. Maintaining a sense of humour and a welcoming attitude, she makes everyone feel like family whether in person at the Facilities counter, by phone or email. Constantly seeking ways to make parking payments easier, she implemented payment online and by cellphone. Working in a demanding position in a demanding department can take its toll, but has not swayed Janis from maintaining a positive outlook and organizing staff events aimed at team building and bringing people together over food, fun and laughs.
