Thompson Rivers University

A simple way to make your statement

October 16, 2013

When I first started this Strategic Priorities consultation, I knew I wanted it to be authentic. By that, I mean that I wanted to hear from anyone with a connection to TRU, in their own words, about where they think TRU needs to focus its time, effort and funds over the next five years. Unrehearsed? Fine! Driven by passion as much as pragmatism? Great! Different from other people’s ideas? Excellent.

I believe one of TRU’s greatest strengths is the diversity of voices and viewpoints within our community. Whether you are one of the students who inspire our mission daily, a dedicated faculty, administrative or staff member, among our ‘army’ of alumni, or a member of one of our communities, near or far – I want to hear from you. However, I have one condition: I want you to provide your input as if you were me.

So: if you were the President of TRU, and you had to decide what this university should – and should not – focus on for the next five years, what would you choose? I hope you will take advantage of the many channels now open to provide your response. Consultation will occur face to face, at a distance and through a blend of both – exactly like our programs.

Put on the President’s hat. Let’s shape the future of Thompson Rivers University, together.
