Students in the first intake of the Women in Trades Training (WITT) program at TRU spent Nov. 29-Dec. 3 at the New Gold mine site operating a range of heavy equipment manufactured by Komatsu.
The students said the practical experience was a great reinforcement of the textbook learning acquired up to that point.
The 17-week program is scheduled to wrap up Dec. 17. WITT is a multi-partner partnership program.
